INDIANA BEACH

Update on our travels.

Back in May I blogged about my dad's heart surgery and our stay in Hannibal, MO. Dad is doing great. He was released from his heart surgeon on June 5th. David and I were able to leave Hannibal on June 6th. YEAH!!!!!!!!! Don't get me wrong. We love our family but the long stay there was not on our agenda. We are still very thankful we were able to stay and help out after his stay in the hospital.

We traveled to Monticello, IN. on the 6th and stayed at Indiana Beach Campground. The name would have you believe there's a beach. NOT!!!! There is a huge amusement park just down the road from the campground. The beach is at the water park there.

One perk for staying at that campground was you received free passes to get into the park. We walked through the park just for something to do. We didn't participate in any of the rides. Just did some people watching, which is always fun.

Some of the photos of are a Dare Devil Ride. People were harnessed together and then rode a tether up to the top of a very high pole. Once they reached the top they were released to swing out over the lake. NO... way would I ever do something like that. But I bet some of my viewers are CRAAAAAZY enough to do it. I'm referring to the Schulte clan. They are the Dare Devil Type.

Catch you up another day and let you know where we went from there.

Not THIS Schulte! No way would I do that. It's probably a really good thing you got out of Hannibal when you did. A week after you left, you might have woke up to water lapping on your doorstep. I don't actually know how Hannibal fared, but we had floods in most of the area equal to that of '93. I heard one guy say "I'm 80 years old and have lived through 3 hundred year floods. How do I explain that?" Kind of funny, but not....
Dennis had his knee replacement June 20 and is home, doing well....but too much...typical Dennis. Travis and I have been really busy this past week. Today, I have three funerals to take care of, and we'll be caught up until Monday.
Here's a tip you may or may not use:
To repel those really annoying (and biting) black gnats....apply a little Absorbine Jr. to your hairline, ears, and neck. It really works!

I resemble that remark. But you should know that an adrenaline rush will jump start your heart sometimes. And that's a good thing, if you live through it. Glad you're enjoying life. Susie has been very busy looking after me and doing my work (graves). I may gain a little respect around here now. naw. She's even hauling rock for a few customers for me. One's that need it right now. I'm afraid they'll find someone cheaper and better to not take care of them. I mowed hay the other day, will need to rake today and again tomorrow before we bale. I can get up on a tractor but can't ride the wagon and stack or put away in the barn, so we will sell it off the wagons. It had to be cut, it's really thick. We got most of it up the day before the new knee and the rest of it has just been waiting for someone to volunteer.

Take care,
Dennis

Can you believe summer is almost over? School starts in just over one week.
I've been wondering about Jon David and the contest? Did he win? I'm sure he made it to the finals...we voted many times, but there were some days I forgot to do it.
Dennis got a good report at the Dr. yesterday, and is starting therapy now. Good news!
