Happy New Year

New Year greetings to all. For those of you who are keeping up with our retirement. You will be happy to know that we are experiencing some Cold Weather. Tonight it will get into the 20's. :-( We will be turning the Electric Blanket on. We've used it more than we had expected.

We did nothing exciting to bring in 2008. Went out to eat and tried to go to a movie, but the theaters here close early on New Years Eve. I thought that was very inconsiderate of them. :-) Didn't they know there were Northerners out that evening who needed something to do besides going to a Wild Party! That's me and Dave, a Wild and Crazy Couple.

I purchsed a plaque to hang in the 5th wheel that says "BELIEVE the future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams". We had a dream and it came true. Praying and believing that God would take care of all our needs and wants. We give Him "Thanks" daily for giving us this opportunity in life.

Just a few more pic's from Bellingrath Gardens.

On Sunday afternoon David an I took our first walk on the beach along the "Mississippi Sound". Since we arrived we've thought we ere on the "Gulf of Mexico". Some native residence set us straight on that. We Stand corrected.

We came upon this glass cube from one of the many washed away buildings along this coast. You can see the Sea Shells and Barnacles that attached themselves to it. I find it very interesting that items are still washing onto the shores after two years. I wanted to take it with us but David said we'd better not. We have no idea if there is a law that prohibits collecting Hurricane Katrina artifacts. We didn't want to end up in jail.

Blogging is fun but I spent most of the day doing this one. For some reason some of the paragraphs kept showing up underlined and in blue font. So I deleted all photos and started over. It fixed the problem.

Have a Great 2008!

Happy New Year to you too! I remember you as pretty wild and crazy party animals....but that was before you got OLD and RETIRED! LOL!
We got another 5 inches of snow yesterday, and today was blustery. We enjoyed spending the day with cousins in Memphis (that's Missouri, not Tennessee)and just got home. The holidays are officially over, and tomorrow is my last day off.
Your pictures are great! Keep up the good work, we appreciate it!

Happy New Year to you both. Looks beautiful on the beach. We are expecting, I think in the mid 50's on Sunday. So maybe all of the snow will melt.

Hugs and keep on posting.

Debra

p.s. I use Picasa to upload my pictures. If you load your pictures on there, you can just view them and there is a button that says blog. So you can hold several pictures, hit blog this and then when it all comes up, post your message. Maybe you already have that but just thought I would let you know.

I didn't know that! Thanks Deb, for that information.
If I remember right, you're moving to a new location this week. Have you made any big plans for the 28th? If you were still in Iowa, we'd plan a huge 60th birthday party for you! LOL!!! hahahaha!!!!! Oooops....maybe I shouldn't have mentioned the number.... oh well, too late! hahahahaa!!!
And I know without a doubt that you're going to try to deny it!

60, WHAAAAAAT :-) We moved yesterday to the new location. It is much nicer. No special plans for the 28th. You have one coming up here real soon, too. I can't remember the date so Happy Birthday. Then again I could be way off. My mind keeps heading further south with each B. D.

Wishing you all a Happy New Year. Sounds like you are having fun. I an so envious of your walks on the beach. I would love to be on the beach right now. Your pictures are beautiful. I don't know where those gardens are but I want to go there. We had a nice New Year. Spent it with the kids. First time in a long time we didn't spend it with your brother and I missed that. We are still hoping to get down south in Feb. Enjoy every day!!!

LOL!!! Brains go away when you get so old! Hee hee hee! My birthday isn't until December, and then I'll ONLY be 56!
Having birthdays and getting older beats dying young! I'm prepared, but not anxious to go yet.

Hello! It is COLD here in IA! I took the FFA kids to Dubuque today for skiing, and it was really cold! With wind! Brrrr. Nice to be back home.
So, what's happening with you these days?
